Horror Movie Marathon 10/13 Movie 13 - Big Ass Spider! 2013 Scare Factor - Scary for people afraid of spiders Every once in a while Netflix streaming surprises me. Mainly known for its TV shows; Netflix stream also can have some good horror. I actually first discovered Trick r Treat on there and because of that I thank thee Netflix! I actually found another one on there just a while ago called Big Ass Spider! This is a hilariously awesome movie and let me tell you, the first three or four minutes has the most epic beginning to a movie. I probably watched it over and over again. Lets just say it features a cover of the song Where Is My Mind by the Pixies. Fight Club fans sing it. Big Ass Spider! is about a hilarious good natured exterminator named Alex that gets involved in fighting a genetically altered spider. This is a great story of the loser becoming the hero in the end kind of thing. The spider is being hunted by the military and it grows tremendously for every victim is kills. The spider actually grows to the size of a freight boat and its awesome. It comes down to our hero Alex to run in and save the day. I love spiders so this movie makes me smile. It has acid spit that will melt your face or it will catch you in its web and then stab you with one of its legs. The scene at the park is great because I think the spider kills 30 people. The best thing about the movie is the duo between Alex and his sidekick Jose. Its not an overly scary movie but its just a great giant monster kind of movie. Please check this out if youre a fan of Arachnophobia (1990) or Eight Legged Freaks (2002) or Shelob from (The Two Towers, NOT RETURN OF THE KING).
