Horsington Brothers’ builders’ merchants Abergavenny: William and Harold Horsington were born in Llangwm but were living in Lion Street in Abergavenny by 1911. After training in painting and carpentry the brothers became builders, and by 1914 had set up their own premises in Lion Street. The photographs show their business card (MISCMSS1421) and a drawing by Ann Tippins of their warehouse from the 1967 Abergavenny Chronicle (D874/168). The warehouse was demolished c. 1967 to provide ‘a saleable site’. Do you remember Horsington Bros. and the building? The site is now called Horsingtons’ Yard.
