Co-ordinates and control tasks or activities associated with controlling personnel performance, productivity and discipline. Control application of procedures and systems in respect of safety, machinery and material resources. Development and maintenance. Project management and relationship management, reports and records. Tour work areas to observe work being done, to inspect crops, and to evaluate plant and soil conditions. Inspect facilities and equipment for signs of disrepair, and perform necessary maintenance work Identify plants as well as problems such as diseases, weeds, and insect pests. Coordinate clerical, recordkeeping, inventory, requisitioning, and marketing activities. Determine plant growing conditions, natural settings, and set planting and care schedules. Assign work schedules and duties to staff supervise their work. Prepare soil for planting, and plant or transplant seeds, bulbs, and cuttings. Determine types and quantities of horticultural/agricultural crops to be grown, based on budgets or projected sales volumes.
