Hoshiarpur November 5 With the arrest of six persons the district police today claimed to have unearthed an inter-district robbers gang operating in various districts of Punjab. Police recovered 3 mousers, 2 country-made pistols, 28 live cartridges and half kilogram heroin from them. Talking to media persons here this afternoon, SSP, Hoshiarpur, Rajjit Singh stated that a special naka (check post) had been erected on Jalandhar-Tanda highway today as the police was tipped-off that some persons who used to commit robberies were roaming in the area. Police intercepted a silver colour Alto car at the said naka and during personal search of the car occupants identified as Gurdev Singh, alias Rimpa, son of Manohar Singh of Khun-Khun Kalan, Narinder Singh, alias Neeta, son of Avtar Singh of Bhogpur, Manveer Singh, alias Gaggi, son of Jasmer Singh and Pardeep Singh, alias Cheeru, son of Baljit Singh, both of Jahura, and Rapinder Pal Singh, alias Baba, son of Joginder Singh of Moonak, police recovered 3 mousers of .32 bore, one country-made pistol of .315 bore, 19 live cartridges of .32 bore and 9 live cartridges of .315 bore. Police also seized half kilogram heroin international market value of which is Rs 2.5 crore, from the dickey of the car. Their one accomplice identified as Dilroop Singh, alias Roop, son of Baljinder Singh of Rastogo, who was coming on a motorcycle, was also intercepted at the said naka and on his personal search one country-made pistol of .315 bore was recovered from him. During preliminary interrogation they confessed that on pistol-point they robbed a person of his mobile phone, gold chain etc. on November 3, 2014 on Miani-Pulpukhta road, robbed Rs 2.5 lakh from a money exchange shop after shooting its owner at Bhogpur (Jalandhar) on October 10, 2014, snatched a vehicle on August 7, 2014 near Bhogpur and shot dead a migrant labourer at a Karyana shop at Hardothala Chowk, Dasuya in their attempt to loot the Karyana shop on September 23, 2014. Besides, they also confessed their involvement in a number of robberies committed in various parts of not only in Hoshiarpur district but also in other districts of the state, said Rajjit Singh, added that their further interrogation is being done. ..............................................................
