Hospital food... This is a message I received in my chat group this morning, and its sparked a heated conversation! Now I totally understand that funding is always an issue for hospitals, but surely theres room for improvement. Real food that is simply cooked, broths, fresh fruit, real eggs? Where we live, farmers/growers donate fresh produce to the hospital if they have surplus - I love that. Maybe some training in what is and isnt gluten free would be good too (as some readers are mentioning getting gravy made with wheat thickeners on their gluten free meal, and things like that)... Maybe a basic list of meal adaptations for different allergies? I know allergies can be very confusing for those who havent had to deal with them. Maybe an allergy friendly, real food hospital meal delivery by quirky cooks Australia wide?? :D What do you think? How could we help to improve our hospitals food?
