Hospital leaks human blood Human blood, flowing from a government hospital into the streets of Kuruman, has raised serious concerns that the town is on the brink of a disease outbreak. Residents in the Northern Cape town expressed shock and disgust on Tuesday at a stream of human blood that has apparently been emanating from a manhole at the Kuruman Hospital for the past week. “This is disgusting. A hospital is supposed to adhere to the utmost standards of cleanliness and health but here human blood greets patients. It is a disaster waiting to happen,” one resident said. This is South Africa says: Our national healthcare system is decaying into absolute chaos. The ANC government inherited a world class healthcare system, the best in Africa, with the best doctors, nurses, facilities and equipment. Today our state hospitals are septic cesspits staffed by incompetent and uncaring staff. Under qualified foreign doctors combined with lack of medical supplies due to the crony tenders put patients lives at risk and now the rot is so bad, it puts residents lives at risk too as we read of human blood oozing into residential areas. When will our government take the responsibility that is needed to get our state hospitals back to the condition needed to provide the medical treatment our citizens need?
