What are the key responsibilities of the position? • 6 week cycle split between the three lodges; 2 weeks as Safari Host, 4 weeks as Relief Lodge Manager at the two other lodges • Prepare welcome and departure notes for guests • Check guests in during the day and manage dietaries, children, or any other special requests • Host guests during the day - meet them back from drive and assist with any request they have • Check set ups for breakfast, lunch and dinner • Make sure the main area is always tidy and styled • Host guests at meal times and check smooth running of service from the kitchen and waiters • Work closely with waiters and HODs to maintain a high service standard • Assist in any other departments as and when required • Host children’s activities at the lodge Skills/Requirements: What type of experience do we require? • Min 2 – 3 years experience in the hospitality industry, especially in dealing with guests and staff • Previous camp manger/ safari host experience an advantage • Previous experience in working with kids an advantage Which qualifications will secure this position? Relevant Hospitality qualification from a recognized establishment Driver’s license What skills / behaviours are required? • Excellent communication skills - with guests and fellow staff members • Good organisational ability • Must take initiative, and be able to cope under pressure • Professional, courteous, hospitable to guests • Must be able to lead people, manage staff and correct things when needed • Honest, proactive and ambitious individual • Must enjoy working with children and be creative when planning fun children’s activities Position Reports to: Lodge Manager Please ensure that you provide the following information with your application: - Photograph – Head and shoulders picture, in low resolution format for our database - Start and End dates for all previous employment - Written references that you have available - Current contact telephone numbers and email addresses for all previous employers, for referencing purposes.
