Hosted for the 4th Annual Hope And A Future event at the CCC Christian Cultural Center in Brooklyn on Saturday! It was a joyous occasion celebrating told The Story of the Trees, a multimedia theatrical experience depicting the reforestation initiative of the C2C Haïti Restoration and Transformation Pilot Project (HRTPP). The cast of artists include international Haitian musician BélO, Haitian Jazz Ensemble Mozayik, Brooklyn dance troupe Francine E. Ott/The Walk, CCC Performing Arts Department and Haitian child prodigy, Mabou. This compelling story weaves music and culture to make a case for environmental protection and self-sufficiency. Proceeds from the 4th Annual “Hope and A Future” – A Celebration of Haïti will help complete the C2C Water Initiative and promote environmental stabilization in Petit Goâve, Haïti. C2C and its mountainside Partner Community launched the C2C Water Initiative in April 2011, building a gravity-fed water distribution system that currently provides access to water for the entire community. The C2C Ayiti Marche that I hosted was open and free to the public and showcased a lot of the beauty of the country and essence of Haiti!
