Hosts South Korea retained their Asian Games mens baseball title with a 6-3 win over Taiwan on Sunday, as Japan beat China to pick up the bronze. Hwang Jae-Gyun knocked in two runs as the Beijing Olympic champions scored four early in the eighth inning to erase an early deficit at a rain-hit Munhak baseball stadium. Starting pitcher Kim Kwang-Hyun gave up three runs on five hits over five and two-thirds innings. But it was the combined efforts of five South Korean relievers, who held Taiwan to just two hits over the final three and one-third inning, that sealed the win.
