Hot Mess (hät mes) Definition: the woman (yours truly) who just walked into Kroger in comfy old gauchos with dog slime smeared down the side of one leg; an old comfy tank top that fit great when she left the house but has since been tugged at and pulled on and is stretched out of control, and adorning a lovely coffee spill that happened just moments ago while she was wrestling her two little ones into the shopping cart; and two pair of sunglasses- one on her face and one atop her head, simply bc shes lost her mind. Her pocketbook is spilling over from the latest raid by her toddler as he searched desperately for gum, which means tic-tacs, and her comfy old flip-flops boast what once was a gloriously-painted (by her preschooler) set of toes, but the hot pink & blue glitter paint is faded and chipped, & her tired feet have seen better days for sure. But you will also notice the quiet smirk and pride in her eyes as she watches her wild ones sip their smoothies in this calm, blissful moment, completely clueless to the spinach/kale power shot she paid the clerk to sneak in there.
