Hot off the press- COURSE IMPROVEMENT UPDATE: Golf Course Renovation Plans Progressing Greenway Golf, operator of the Chuck Corica Golf Complex, and the City of Alameda (Course Owner), have been working diligently together to complete all of the required steps for permitting so work can begin on the South & North Course improvements. As you may know, undertaking any renovation and improvement project in the State can be a tedious and consuming slow process. Greenway along with City staff have worked very hard to keep the project on schedule, but unfortunately as it often happens we have expereinced some delays along the way. There are several environmental reports from outside agencies that are needed to move the CEQA process forward and some of these reports have taken a little longer than originally planned. The delays that we have experienced are all part of the process and thanks to a great partnership between the City of Alameda and Greenway the permitting process is almost complete. All reviews and environmental studies have been completed and submitted for State review. Therefore, we are hopeful that within the next 60-days the State will approve the plans and work will be set to begin immediately thereafter (Likely in late August to September).Your continued support and that of the Alameda community and players has been terrific and valuable. South Course Plans – Greenway has partnered with Rees Jones, world renowned golf course architect, to complete a redesign of the Jack Clark South Course as presented in the original management proposal by Greenway to the City.
