Hot on the paws of our warning last week about pool chemicals, Duke serves as another reminder that these products can be life-threatening to your pets. Duke inhaled chlorine, which burnt the inside of his lungs, making it difficult for him to breathe. He was placed in an oxygen cage for five days with a naso-gastric tube providing sustenance and Sr Rozanne administering love and care. We knew he was feeling better when he pulled out the feeding tube on his own! Please keep your pets well away when working with pool/pond chemicals.
