Hotes Foundation - Baby Elijah An update on baby Elijah who was abandoned on an orphanage doorstep in Haiti. He has experienced more pain and suffering in 8 months of life than most of us do in a full life time. But he is a little fighter. Since his shunt surgery for Hydrocephalus he has developed a serious infection and had to be re-hospitalized. Sadly the seizures have left him both blind and deaf. But as you can see in this video he is comfortable for the time being and enjoying his binky. Elijah is one baby of millions born in the dirt. Most, if not all Haitian babies are never seen by a doctor nor will see the inside of a hospital. They live and die like this. Nothing will change unless more volunteers go to help.
