Hots and nots for Empire E.8 I just wanted to quichly say first that this is without a doubt my best ever larp event. so sorry for the long post. so.... Lets get the negatives out of the way first.... - the weekend went by in a heart beat. Seriously I think another day wold have been awesome, but hay thats how its goes some times. - the little bit of rain during pack down, bit of an annoyance Realy than a problem. -queues for shuttle bus to train station taking ages, so eventually took a taxi instead, which is a little expense I hadnt catered for. - just a little bleed between my charicter (Robert) during the weekend and post event. Just had to remember that it was just a game but took me by surprise as it never happened before. Now for the good bits.... Well where to start. + Getting a suit of winter born war maille. This stuff easily saved my life (and my mates life who also had a suit) across the weekend. + role playing the affects of being bound to the war maille and the consequences of having a large gulp of Justin Andrew forge water and shortly afterwards feeling the affects of the bonding O.C , and doubling over when that lethal concoction realy hit home . + finally getting to use a bill hook (thanks to will for letting me borrow it), now that I have weapon master skill. And it was bloody great! Really enjoyed being a line fighter and I felt that I contributed more in combat which leads me to...... + The raid into the Mournwold.... What can I say, this was one of my highlights of my weekend. Really got to play on my characters and House Hawcombes (which are now attached to the apple wood levy) back ground. + I.C loosing my cool big time while fighting the Jotun, such as but not restricted to executing one foot solider after he attacked from behind after getting back up and was dropped again. + possible personal plot that my result from events in the mournwold skirmish. + the new apple wood song by TJand abigail ( and others ?). It was epic !!! +awesome serious role play and laughter with tjs character later on that night. + Captin savage talking a bill block tactics and telling me off on sunday after getting too hot headed on the Mournwold skirmish. + Sundays battle was awesome. the fighting with drawl on the main road was pretty cool. Watching the wave of orcs charging 10 -15 meters against the mixture of bills and swords and shield was epic. Props to the ork who just totally R.Ped being totally impaled on my bill as i brought it down at the last second rather than just taking a hit ( you could tell he was relatively healthy h.p wise) + differences between Mathieu s character on life etc compared to Roberts, and the clashes of opinions especially on the battle field. But deep down theres a close comradely between the contrasting characters. + seeing Lunetta in the battle field but being so busy and hurried that Robert was only able to give a good luck nod and vice versa. Also finding out she survived the battle was a relief. +The wassail was amazing and the singing of brining in the sheaves around the fire brought a tear to Roberts eye , thus lifting his hood to cover his face. + meeting more of the Gilded horn Carta via Lunetta (Josée Tisdale) and ha bing out with those lovely people. + Weather was pritty much spot on perfect. + boundary men were awesome to R.P with + to the group from mittwold who I fought along side on Saturday you were awesome. And the lass who mended my bill and me cleaved leg twice, I owe you a pint. + Our Good Ol Jack Really embodying the essence of the marches. Thanks to the Apple wood levy for being a great bunch of guys and girls to role play with. And a big thank you to the marches, you guys were as always totally bloody epic in all aspects of the game. Keep at it. So looking foward to next event!!!! Thanks for all the good times and See you wonderful people later Rhys
