Hottest Balita 3 soldiers wounded in encounter with rebels in Agusan del Sur: THREE government soldiers were wounded following a clash with New People’s Army (NPA) in a remote sitio in Agusan del Sur last Wednesday, reports said Friday. Reports at Camp Crame said the encounter occured at around 4:20am Wednesday at Kilometer 38, Brgy. Bunawan Brook, Bunawan, Agusan del Sur. The encounter took place after a platoon of troops from the Charlie Company of the army’s 75th Infantry Battalion chanced upon unknown number of rebels in the area. The reports said a firefight broke-out lasted for 10 minutes resulting into the wounding three personnel on the government side while undetermined on the enemy side. Bunawan police and the adjacent police stations conducted checkpoints and are monitoring clinics and hospitals for patients with gunshot wounds.
