House Speaker John Boehner came out in support of House Majority Whip Steve Scalise today after the news came out that Scalise spoke at an event held by a white supremacist group in 2002. Scalise is the no. 3 ranking Republican in the federal government. Scalise on his talking to white supremacists: “It was a mistake I regret, and I emphatically oppose the divisive racial and religious views groups like these hold. I am very disappointed that anyone would try to infer otherwise for political gain,” Scalise said.
