House of Assembly Polls: Uruan Youths Reject Imposition ... Queue Behind APC candidate Kufre Etuk By Henshaw NYONG. As the political gear in the country changes from four to running gear, various support bodies and groups have continued to mobilize and re-affirm their solidarity behind candidates they distinguish as one who merits creditability based on his outstanding, selfless and human friendly services rendered. One of such group is the Uruan youth for KufreAbasi Etuk 2015, who through a communiqué made available to newsmen in Uyo, the State capital, on Monday, stated unequivocally that Uruan people are aware that not everyone is born to lead, submitting that Hon (Obong) KufreAbasi Etuk is one whom God has given the wisdom for leadership to guide the people of Uruan into the right path through governance. The youth stated that the 3 and a half years of Obong Etuk as member representing Uruan in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly has witnessed topnotch representation coupled with gargantuan empowerment of young and old including indigent students of the area. The group recalled that even when KufreAbasi Etuk was not in government, he had given permanent jobs to Uruan people and others, in the oil and gas company numbering 48, challenging those seeking the State House of Assembly seat in the area to present their antecedents and bring to the fore what they have ever done for Uruan Inyang Atakpo. The group reeled out few of the outstanding achievements of the lawmaker to include securing jobs for 19 graduates of Uruan in the Akwa Ibom State Civil Service, 6 graduates into National Energy Commission and Nigerian Immigration Service. Others are; empowerment of over 500 women in small scale business, empowerment of 20 people for Agric loan, empowerment of 4 youths with N250,000 each to venture into any legitimate business of their choice, empowerment of 25 youth with big generating set plus N100,000 each to boost their business plan, floating of scholarship scheme for Uruan students in different Higher institutions of learning, registering of WAEC, NECO and JAMB for innumerable Uruan sons and daughters, donation of computer sets, giant-size Generating plant to School Midwifery and another gigantic generating plant to the School of Nursing, all in Ituk Mbang in Uruan. Its on record that our Lawmaker, Hon KufreAbasi Etuk, has renovated and upgraded the Ekpene Ukim Market. He has constructed 2 dual wall shops, 2 open shops, renovation of 3 lock up shops, 8 open shops, renovation of perimeter fence as well as drilling of a mini water scheme with reticulation. In just 3 years in office, HOKE, has donated no fewer than 6 Sleek Utility Vehicles (SUVs) to Uruan stakeholders, another 13 cars to his people, in order to aid their movements amongst other feats, the communique reads in part. The group emphasized that one good term deserves another, assured the lawmaker that Uruan people who are satisfied already with the representation of HOKE will vote massively for the Ekpene Ukim born former oil magnet and ensure his re-election on Saturday, February 28, 2015.
