Ma & 9 MustardSeeds-(A Southern family Tribe Survived, Endured and Achieved Moving Mountains by Faith) In the field of Sharcroppers across the country as Slavery ended and Jim Crow started. You could hear the distance song of the heart for broken people with faith keeping them pressing forward. A Story about a Singing Sharecropper ( THELMA), leaving the Cotton fields for a better life. With her 9 kids trailing behind her, she was bound for something better and equality in Memphis tn. Thelma Brownlee ( Ma) a Mother of 9 was a ShareCropper , since the age of 4 years old in Como Mississippi. (Ma ) Thelma would sing while picking cotton with her oldest kids and other field hands to sooth their tired Souls. The youngest (Stanley Campbell), as an infant, would be carried in a dragg Bag in the fields as cotton were picked. As the richness of Music singing by (Ma) Thelma to pass the time and relief during those hard work as ShareCropper, Ma was tired that she made a decision to leave the disparity of the fields in 1966, with her 9 children following closely behind of Pursuit in which our Constitution states that everyone has the inalienable Rights to the Pursuit of Happiness. In the 70s Memphis Tn. , (Ma Thelma) would have all 9 Seeds to set on the floor in a circle, while reading History Books and the Holy Bible during the hardship in South Memphis. (MA) was grooming her 9 MustardSeeds (Children) to become Active and Productive in Memphis and Society. She would lead by example. She would be elected as the President of Newly thought of Neighborhood hood watch. In the 80s, the Epidemic chemical Drug ( Crack ) took control in South Memphis. (Ma) would approach the Victims and Dope pushers head on, asking them to stop the Activities before they and the community be destroyed. She didnt get much help because of Fear but she fortified anyhow. She would walk the neighborhood streets meeting them head on, on their turf, teaching & sharing the word of God on the Issue of Love . In the 90s , she asked the youngest Seed, (Stanley) to organize a (retreat Love you Neighborhood Concert ) and there were oppositions but it was a great Mission. Instilling in her 9 Children of love For Gods people and Community envolvements, All of the 9 Siblings would become Ministers or Activists, within Gods chosens. They would use History, Spiritual Guidance & The Arts to create solutions in positive ways. In 2014 ( at the Age of 80) ,( M aThelma) still gives time feeding & Clothing the Homeless in Midtown & Downtown and SouthMemphis areas and still talking to inner city Youth & Gang Members .continuing to provide intervention methods. Because of (MaThelma) long Standing Community Envolements, Ma&9 MustardSeeds, Forgotten Douls Festivals, The Annual Stone Awards, The Projected opening of The House of Mtenzi Museum Exist!
