Household of Grace Ministries THE UNSTOPPABLE- (2Kings 2: 1-15, 1 Kings 19: 15-21] {Series IV} BECOMING UNSTOPPABLE -1 Kings 19: 15-21(Part 1) Let us trust the Holy Spirit to give us insight and grant us access as we trust God to know the secret of the rugged rigidity of Elisha’s stand. Why was he Insistently Unstoppable? What must we do to become unstoppable as well? • BURN THE BRIDGE; BOIL THE OXEN: When Elijah cast his mantle upon Elisha, Elisha left the oxen he was feeding and pursued after Elijah! Elijah chased him back to go and continue with his business, instead of bidding Elijah farewell, Elisha ran back, killed one of the yokes of oxen, converted the feeding troughs into cooking utensils as he conducted a valedictory service for himself. Moreover, he organized a wonderful send forth ceremony for himself, he bade his family, household, business and every other thing farewell and there was no other account in the scriptures that Elisha returned to the things He left behind. The reason most of us are rising and falling daily in the body of Christ is because we have so many options to fall back to; we have not really burnt the bridge behind us. Elisha burnt the bridge behind him, he cancelled the existence of any other option as he placed the totality of his trust hope and faith on the higher calling. Oh, that we could trust God wholeheartedly like this! Even if Elisha had wanted to go back, what would he have gone back to? He has cancelled every other option in his life for the Excellency of the higher calling. He pursued hard after God with a single purpose knowing that there is no alternative. He boiled the oxen that he was supposed to be taking care of because he knew that the fact that the oxen remains alive can be a source of distraction for him in his pursuit of God and divine manifestation. Friends, If we must become unstoppable in our generation, we must learn to burn the bridge behind us, we must learn to cancel every option that may serve as an alternative for the place of God in our lives. We must learn to put our absolute faith, hope and trust in God in everything and about everything, we must be ready to forsake all for the sake of the gospel. We must be ready to follow God just as blind men follows their guide. We must be ready to stake our lives on the course of the kingdom. We must be ready to surrender all to the master without holding anything back. Is God your one and only choice or one of many choices? He doesn’t want to be the best of Many Choices, He doesn’t want to be one of many choices, He want to be the Best and the Only Choice! What are the things that are deputizing for God in your life? What are the things that are the nearest alternatives when it is seems God is delaying in attending to your case? What are the things or who are the people that take better advantage than God in your life - your job, business, ministry, church, career, ambition, etc? Do you find it easier to run to pick your phones and call on people than to run to bow your knees when the challenges of life raises its ugly head? Who are those people in your life that you prefer to offend God than to offend them believing that God is always faithful and just to forgive us our sins? Who are those people that sit on the throne of your life? Could it be your parent, friends, spouse, fiancé/fiancée, boyfriend/girlfriend, pastors, mentors/disciplers, guardian, ward/children, etc? How pitiable it is that since the day you secured that buoyant contract, then your eternity became insecure in the process? How would you explain it that God provided a job for you and now you are too busy with the Job He created for you or the promotion he miraculously granted unto you even when you did not merit it? How pathetic is it to note that the problem of some people started the day they walked down the aisle and exchanged marital vows? Can we say that God’s time in your life became rationed the moment you had a baby, or the moment you secured an admission, became beneficiary of a scholarship. If you must become unstoppable, you must learn how to cut-off some of these things and rearrange how to rearrange your scale of preference. You must learn to ensure that NOTHING takes the place of God in your heart.....to b contineu in d next season.
