Housekeeper Holiday Inn Express Hotel This is a Full-time position in Chillicothe, Ohio posted July 21, 2014. The Holiday Inn Express is looking to hire part time housekeepers. Prior experience preferred but not required. Must be able to work in a fast pace environment and have a friendly personality. Job Description – Housekeeper Position: Housekeeper Reports to: Housekeeping Supervisor Requirements: o Minimum high school diploma. o 1 year experience in the hospitality industry. o Willing to work flexible hours. o Must embrace the Mission, Values, and Vision of Holiday Inn Express Hotels & Suites (HIX) o Must wear appropriate uniform as prescribed by HIX policy. o Must maintain personal cleanliness. o Must be able to lift 40lbs. o Must have the ability to push, pull, bend, stoop, and reach upward o Must be able to have exposure to cleaning chemicals o Must tolerate exposure to extreme temperatures o Must tolerate prolonged periods of standing and/or walking o Must have the ability to verbally communicate effectively with guests and coworkers General Responsibilities: o Properly and efficiently perform all housekeeping duties. o Properly and efficiently perform all the cleaning activities of the Hotel’s facilities, including routine and deep cleaning of guestrooms, public areas, back of the house and laundry operations. Primary Functions: • Routine Cleaning: o Guest Rooms: Clean guest rooms, thoroughly, efficiently, and ready for sale, in accordance with Holiday Inn Express Hotels & Suites training and standards. o Supplies & Amenities: Replenish guest room supplies and amenities in cleaned rooms in accordance with Holiday Inn Express Hotels & Suites standards. o Public Areas: Clean public areas, thoroughly, efficiently, and as assigned or required by the supervisor in accordance with Holiday Inn Express Hotels & Suites training and standards. • Deep Cleaning: o Deep clean guest rooms and /or public areas, thoroughly, efficiently and as and when assigned, all in accordance with Holiday Inn Express Hotels & Suites training and standards. • Profit: o Effectively support the control and management of all housekeeping operational expenses including labor, overtime, supplies etc., and seek and suggest cost saving strategies. Participate in controlling daily costs per occupied room (CPOR) for all housekeeping activities. • Quality: o Guest Service: Work closely with the Housekeeping staff to ensure that the hotel meets/exceeds Holiday Inn Express’s and brand standards for guest satisfaction. o Facilities: Consistently ensure that the hotel meets/exceeds Holiday Inn Express Hotels & Suites and Brand quality standards. o Guest Requests: Satisfy all guest requests in accordance with the Holiday Inn Express Hotels & Suites training and standards. o Communication: Politely greet and acknowledge all guests and hotel associates as encountered. • Safety & Security: o Cleaning: Perform all cleaning functions in a safe and sanitary fashion and without jeopardizing personal, associate or guest health, safety or security. o Emergency: In case of an emergency, strictly follow the Holiday Inn Express Hotels & Suites safety and security training and protocol. • Leadership: o Leading: Motivate and support Housekeeping team members and be accountable in achieving set goals. o Work Ethic: Demonstrate a high level of integrity, take ownership of personal and team actions, communicate effectively, promote collaboration, nurture a positive, professional work environment, and adhere to Holiday Inn Express’s Standard Operating Procedures. Specific Responsibilities o Have a good understanding of all of hotel operating procedures. o Be knowledgeable of room types and standards for supplies. o Clean and sanitize guest rooms, replenish supplies and amenities, inspect, and report rooms ready for sale to the front desk all in accordance with HIX training and standards. o Inspect rooms with HIX checklist before releasing for sale. o Required to be in uniform with name tag o Open and close rooms as required for maintenance and timely and properly report maintenance requirements. o Follow all existing and new housekeeping policies and procedures. o At the end of shift provide written accounting of over/under linens, supplies and amenities on approved HIX provided forms. o Perform deep cleaning tasks as assigned. o Maintain public areas clean, attractive, safe and presentable at all times. o Maintain cl eaning supplies and the cleaning cart in a safe, organized and presentable fashion. o Comply with and honor the housekeeping staff work schedules. o Follow the company appearance and uniform policy. o Attend weekly departmental meetings. o Perform and be accountable for delegated responsibilities and duties. o Inform the Executive Housekeeper of any unique situations, or unusual developments in housekeeping operations. o Ensure the prompt and systematic servicing of all guest requests. o Handle guest complaints effectively. o Be willing and able to work any shift and fill in when other employees are not able to work their scheduled shift. o Promote goodwill by being courteous, friendly, and helpful to guests, managers and all other associates.
