Position can lead to Full Management Position Open interviews Mon-Fri 10AM-2PM ask for Eric 26700 Central Park Blvd Southfield, MI 48076 The Housekeeping Inspector is a hands-on supervisor directing all Housekeeping operations including guestroom and public cleanliness and laundry operations. This is an entry-level management position ideal for candidates looking to advance their career into hotel management. This position is the first step to upper level management positions in one of our several properties. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Maintaining cleanliness and an attractive appearance in guest accommodations and public spaces in accordance with Hawthorn Suites standards. * Supervising all housekeeping associates. * Inspecting all rooms and correcting deficiencies. * Maintaining proper inventory of linen and supplies, purchasing needed linen and supplies while staying within budget. * Communicating with front desk for early arrivals and departures, extended stays on timely manner. * Leads a work culture that values the safety and wellness of our associates demonstrated through team safety awareness. * Attend staff meetings, performing daily pre-shift meetings and other meetings as needed. * Creating weekly schedules for Guestroom attendants, Housemen, and Laundry staff. * Coaching and counseling associates as needed. * Providing proper training to new associates. * Champions continuous improvement for all housekeeping work processes and team service culture The ideal Executive Housekeeper will possess strong and flexible communication skills, experience driving great results and culture through a diverse workforce, have a clear understanding of guest service in a hotel environment and demonstrate leadership abilities. *Supervisory and housekeeping experience required * Ability to work a varied schedule that may include evenings, nights, and weekends * Excellent time management skills * Solid scheduling experience * Ability to quickly evaluate alternatives and decide on a plan of action * Ability to create an enjoyable work environment including mentoring, multi-tasking, strong motivational skills * Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers and staff, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy
