Housing First model has been extremely successful in Salt Lake City. They not only have reduced their homeless population saving thousands of financial resources that can be used elsewhere, but they have taken huge steps to change the public perception of the homeless creating compassion amongst the people of Salt Lake for their fellow human beings! It is time this model goes nationwide! Come on, Michigan! Lets step up and do what is right! The punitive measures being passed by our state legislature does nothing but dehumanize our brothers and sisters. It is time for a solution, not more unjust punishments!
