Houston Rockets fans... we need to have a talk about Chris Bosh. I know your season ended early, but you could have learned something if you had just kept watching the playoffs. The finals revealed something very important. Signing 3 players for 55MM+/year can yield some good results, if you are setup for it. I dont think you guys are. Heres your payroll as it currently stands: 1 Dwight Howard $20,513,178 2 James Harden $13,701,250 3 Jeremy Lin $8,374,646 4 Omer Asik $8,374,646 5 Terrence Jones $1,551,840 6 Donatas Motiejunas $1,422,720 7 Marcus Camby $1,399,507 8 Francisco Garcia $1,265,977 9 Ronnie Brewer $1,186,459 10 Jordan Hamilton $1,169,880 11 Omri Casspi $947,907 12 Chandler Parsons $926,500 Theres a few more, but they are either backloaded contracts or names that are probably playing in the D-league at this point. If you were to go after a certain Chris Bosh, youd have to clear out Lin and Asik, which are already overpaid... which means youre going to have to give up quite a few draft picks and maybe some promising players towards the end of your roster (if you have any... Im not familiar with your 10th+ rotation players). So, youll have Dwight Howard, James Harden and Chris Bosh and then not much. Youre bench will look like Miamis this year. You pose some interesting mismatches with the length of Howard/Bosh, but do you think thats enough to make it through the West? You guys need to add a few more role players and send Harden to a defensive camp for high schoolers, then college players, then he may be able to play defense in the NBA.
