How "BOUTIQUE" are they? 5 nights with HK boutique hotels - Day 2 - TopicsExpress

How "BOUTIQUE" are they? 5 nights with HK boutique hotels - Day 2 at Ovolo 256 Ovolo has been established "quietly" but quickly in HK with 7 properties opened and more to come. Although listed as a hotel, this one on the Tung Chau Street seems more like a serviced apt to me. Positive comments were found online and also from SHTM colleagues, so I could not wait to check it out... 󾮗 󾮗 󾮗 Simple but neat room; cozy and multi-function design of the lobby and lounge area; great service and smiles! And free mini bar (although limited items) - did they learn from our Hotel ICON ? 󾍃 󾮠 󾮠󾮠 2-star bed; smell toilet; but most unforgettably, I always believed that a desk or table (even mini) is a standard furniture for any hotel or serviced apt, UNTIL entered my 50-m2 room -- there was not even a good flat surface anywhere in the room except the electronic stove in the kitchen!!! 󾌻󾌻󾌻 With a big folder of materials to review for my CHE exam on the next day, how could I study well??? 󾌺󾌺󾌺 I had to be creative by using the tiny telephone holder, which is smaller than two pieces of papers... I was thinking all night long: in case I could not pass the exam in the morning, should I "complain" at Tripadvisor?󾍅󾍅󾍅
