How Fasting and Qur’an Will Intercede For the Slave on the Day of Judgment. Abdullah ibn ‘Amr (RA) narrated that the Prophet (SAW) said: “Fasting and the Qur’an will intercede on behalf of the slave. Fasting will say ‘Oh my Lord, I prevented him from eating and drinking during the day, so allow me to intercede on his behalf.’ And the Qur’an will say ‘Oh my Lord, I prevented him from sleeping during the night, so allow me to intercede on his behalf.’ Then, their intercession is accepted. (Saheeh: Ahmad, at-Tabarani, and al-Hakim).
