How I Keep Fit: Miria Matembe, rights activist and politician Daily Monitor First and foremost, I would say my looks are by the Grace of God. However I also work at it. Walking Whenever I have time, I always walk in the morning for 15 to 40 minutes because we have a walking area within our locality. I make sure that I do this at least four times a week. Body toning I often do toning at least once a month. This includes lying on your back and grasping your weights with the palms of your hands facing up, and your arms outstretched to the sides. I also do sauna and massage though I have taken two months without going to the sauna but whenever I have time I go for it. I also swim once in a while though it has been long since I last went swimming. Eating well I used to eat everything but for the last two months, I have been eating according to my blood type which is O positive. After reading a book, Eating Right for your Blood Type, I now avoid foods which are not compatible with my blood type like wheat products, ground nuts, cassava, avocado, milk and cabbage, among others. I like some of these but because they are not compatible with my blood type, I avoid them. Relaxing Stress is one of the main reasons why people fall sick and look older than their age. So I always avoid stress by not worrying about anything. As a Christian, I follow and believe what God said about providing and he always does so I never worry about anything, especially money, even though I have been out of formal employment for eight years now. I also read a lot of books and make sure that every morning I read the Bible. I spend much time on my spiritual life something I believe has kept me strong and healthy till now.
