How I came thru life I saw a lot more than I ever wanted to see. I saw the educated without opportunity and the humble loaded with grace. I saw the disenfranchised suffer poverty while the rich drove by them without the blink of an eye. I saw tragedy that crippled people emotionally until they could no longer function. I saw the middle class become the lower class, the upper class become the middle class, the lower class become the upper class, and no one could rationally explain it. I saw good marriages fall apart and struggling marriages come together. I saw good friends betray each other and grow apart and strangers become best friends. I saw men and women together for years who never got married, and people meet and within a year got married and remain married. I saw some dreams fail, while others take shape and explode beyond all expectations. I saw the unchurched sinner repent and serve God fervently and church people turn from God without regret. I saw the hand of God promote the humble while correcting the proud. I saw children of ordinary people receiving scholarships to great schools later accomplishing extraordinary feats and children of the extraordinary doing ordinary things gaining ordinary results. I saw the physically blind see more than the sighted. I saw short people reach high places and tall people limit their reach. I saw the under-qualified get hired and the over-qualified rejected. I saw the unexpected come to life and the expected pale in comparison. I saw God work so powerfully in the lives of those that appeared to be beyond hope until their history could no longer be remembered because of all His many blessings. I saw young people die young and old people die at a ripe old age. I saw sudden deaths, sudden blessings, sudden losses, sudden tears, sudden smiles, sudden loss of hope, and sudden hope in abundance. I saw sudden moves of God that made me glad that in spite of it all, God was there, and in Him nothing is lost. Life has great value that surpasses the experiences they pass through when God is in it. Can you see that?
