How I can be right with God? : To be right with God, we must first understand what is the answer is sin wrong.. There is none that doeth good, no, not one (Psalm 14: 3). We have rebelled against Gods commandments; All we like sheep (Isaiah 53: 6). The bad news is that the penalty for sin is death. The soul that sins shall die (Ezekiel 18: 4). The good news is that a loving God has sought us, to bring us salvation. Jesus said that His purpose was to seek and save that which was lost (Luke 19:10), and when he died on the cross, declared fulfilled this purpose with the words, It is finished (John 19:30). Having a good relationship with God begins by acknowledging his sin. Then comes a humble confession of sin to God (Isaiah 57:15) and a determination to renounce sin. With the mouth confession is made unto salvation (Romans 10:10). This repentance must be accompanied by faith. Specifically, faith in the atoning death of Jesus and his miraculous resurrection qualify him to be your Savior. If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved (Romans 10: 9). Many other passages speak about the necessity of faith, such as John 20:27; Acts 16:31; Galatians 2:16; 3: 11:26 and Ephesians 2: 8. Being right with God depends on their response to what God has done for their benefit. He sent the Savior provided the sacrifice to take away your sin (John 1:29), and offers this promise: Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved (Acts 2:21). The parable of the Prodigal Son is a beautiful illustration of repentance and forgiveness (Luke 15: 11-32). The younger son squandered the wealth of his father madly living (verse 13). When he acknowledged his wrongdoing, he decided to return home (verse 18). He assumed that it would not be worthy to be called a son (verse 19), but I was wrong. The father loved him more than ever the rebel who returned repented (verse 20). Everything was forgiven, and what followed was a celebration (verse 24). God is good to keep His promises, including the promise to forgive. The LORD is near to the brokenhearted; saves and a contrite spirit (Psalm 34:18).
