How I miss my grandmothers on this side of the veil. What I wouldnt give to be able to pick up the phone or to drive to see them now. Today I pray for all of the elders of our community. May we love and treasure each of them. Spirit, wont you fill our hearts with love and compassion and a burning desire to know and spend time with our elders? Wont you give us a burden to pour into their lives with our time and our energy that they do not feel lonely, or rejected. May their days be filled with meaning and purpose, with kind friends and neighbors. Grant them joy and bring them people to laugh and talk with...and fill their lives with music and new opportunities to learn. Turn the hearts of their children and their grandchildren toward them and if they have none who will love them, give them the love of new friends..Everyone has a story...teach us to respect and treasure the stories of our elders. Amen
