How Much Can A Man Fulfill You? Many moons ago, there was a woman who was in love with a man she thought shed spend the rest of her life with. She wanted to spend every minute of the day with him but, alas, his schedule and his desire didnt jibe with hers. She fit into only one among the many boxes of his life while he was her only box. The result? She was slowly strangling the man. He felt that his best effort to be with her wasnt good enough. He said that he spent as much time as he could with her but when he wasnt able to, its as if his brownie points in the past counted for nothing. I feel like Im in sales all over again, he told her during the fight, referring to his former job. After I meet this months quota, Im back to zero again. In the womans effort to salvage the relationship, she sought counsel from a seer, a relationship guru of sorts whose first name has two letters. With much tact, prudence and love, the wise man advised her, Girl, get a life. Ouucchh... Youre a codependent of the guy - not having boundaries of your own. In the process, youre sucking the life out of him, the seer added. The perfect husband can only supply 30 percent of his wifes needs, he went on to explain. Lets say this guy can only supply you with 15 percent. That means the rest of the 85 percent has to be filled by God, your friends, your job, your goals, etc. He concluded, When you have a life of your own, then you can negotiate from a place of strength, not of weakness. Then you can go to your man and say, Can you give me this? But if you cant, thats Okay. With that golden advice, the woman went off mumbling a chant the seer taught her. I will be in sales. When my man calls or visits - no matter how short - I will give him the best time of his life. And because hell feel good about our time. together, hell come back for more!
