How NOT to Groom a Fearful Dog. Warning! This video is hard to watch. Im using it as an education in body language. The dog tries to bite him 12 times. If you click the settings icon in youtube and watch in slow motion at the speed of .5 youll see every bit of body language this dog is using to tell hes uncomfortable and going to bite. Im going to list the body languages the dog is using over and over again throughout this 9 minutes of torture. This person is completely lacking in the skills of reading dog body language and what it means. The incompetence of this person (I cant say trainer) will ensure that this dog learns nothing but to continue to fear being brushed furthering his distrust in people leaving him no option still but to bite. Body oriented away Tongue flicks lots of them throughout the video Licking Tail Wagging in the beginning, a low slow tail wag Tail Tucked Ears back and down Ears Back and sideways Braced, tense body Closed Mouth Still/Stiff Paw lift, lots of paw lifts throughout the video Direct Stare, a lot Look Away a lot Panting Yawning Pay close attention to these times for the bite: 2:44, 2:46, 2:52, 2:58, 3:02, 3:05, 3:23, 3:52, at 3:54 he hits the dog in the head with the shedding blade, 3:56, 3:59, 4:43, at 7:12 he hits/pokes him in the side The only thing good to come from this video is that hopefully this person will be exposed for mistreating this dog.
