How Not To Overtake a Cyclist: Heres a nice little video sent - TopicsExpress

How Not To Overtake a Cyclist: Heres a nice little video sent into us from Ian Mountain, and coincidental that its also a well worn path by my own two wheels. Its a 50 zone and usually one can maintain a comfortable speed of around 40 as it undulates downward with maximum delays of around 60 seconds for motorists. The bends are blind and there is no shoulder. In the 1000s of times Ive traversed its length I have not once had a problem with any motorist, all have been courteous and respectful as they know its a heavily used cycling road and gets people off the notorious Great Western Highway. But as always, it only takes one. One could understand if there were a heavily pregnant lady in the rear tray about to give birth, unfortunately he was in a hurry to get into his dead end street. (Maybe about to deliver a baby)? So welcome to the Blue Mountains. Its important to note as I have found out from my own investigations, unless you have a witness to an unsafe pass here in NSW you can virtually forget about handing the video in for evidence.
