How Proud Are You As A Sierra Leonean? This lady here amongst us is a naturalized Sierra Leonean,born Dutch.She went to Sierra Leone in 2006 to do her thesis but fall in love with the country during her stay.She is an anthropologist,a writer and also a graphic designer.Since I came to Europe in 2011,I had never seen any of our local solid sauce grown here but at her compound,we saw Krain-krain,bitter leaf etc and she even cooks the African way with charcoals and African pot.Her house is decorated with Sierra Leones attire like the window curtain which is decorated with our national flag. When this Ebola disease became an outbreak,she used her lobbying tactics through the media and other means to get the attention of various stakeholders on how to help our country,Sierra Leone at this needy time.Within two days of calling and interneting,she was able to raised 20,000 Euros[twenty thousand Euros] for this Ebola and the money has been transferred on the doctors without borders account.She will be conducting interviews from various media outlets within The Netherlands like TV,newspapers etc together with some members of the Sierra Leone Ebola campaign Team Holland, to convince the Dutch government and the general public in helping the fight against this disease. However,when it comes to the claimed proud Sierra Leoneans to contribute towards this fight,they will be asking youwhere is the government? But one thing some Sierra Leoneans failed to realize is,it might be that from start to finish,no government official be affected with the disease.May the Lord forbid. If a non-native Sierra Leone is going to this length to save people,what about you the native Sierra Leonean?
