Today I have a (naturally) sweet and delicious green smoothie recipe that tastes so good you wont even notice that youre filling your belly with three cups of dark leafy greens. Spinach is a true superfood and is packed with a ton of essential nutrients that your body needs to thrive. Its also mostly water, making this smoothie extra hydrating. All of the ingredients in this smoothie are loaded with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, phytonutrients, good fats and fiber--feel free to drink up guilt-free. Unlike candy, which is ruining your health and you should stop eating. Banana-Pineapple Candy Green Smoothie Recipe Makes 1 large serving. Use organic ingredients whenever possible. Ingredients: 3 cups baby spinach (about 3 large handfuls) 1 cup freshly cut pineapple flesh 1 small ripe banana, peeled 2 tablespoons chia seeds 1 teaspoon raw, virgin coconut oil (aka coconut butter) 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice 1 cup purified water 1 cup ice (about 10 ice cubes) Method: Wash all produce thoroughly and prepare it for the blender. Blend all ingredients starting on low working your way up to high until well blended, about 45-60 seconds total. Optional: Add 5-10 drops liquid stevia if needed for more sweetness. The pineapple and banana make this smoothie deliciously sweet; if your sweet tooth is extra strong add a few drops of liquid pure stevia to sweeten even more. Also, the lime adds a great tart flavor, but if you dont dig tart flavor leave it out. You can also substitute 2 tablespoons of avocado for the coconut oil if you dont have any on hand. Green smoothies are best when served immediately but can be stored in an airtight glass container in the refrigerator up to 12 hours. Fill the container to the top and seal tightly to minimize air exposure. The ingredient measurements in green smoothies are flexible, add more or less of any ingredients to your taste.
