How We Got the Quran (and What This Means for Muslims)” One of the things that strikes the Christian reader of the Quran is the number of biblical stories, characters and allusions that appear in its pages. Clearly the author of the Quran could expect his first audience to be familiar with biblical material. This seminar will use this fact as a jumping off point to explore the Qurans origins, showing how far from falling direct from heaven (the Muslim view) the Quran can be shown to have very human fingerprints all over it. Given the Qurans importance as one of the pillars on which Islam sits, critical study of the Quran has huge implications, and so this seminar will also help Christians think through how to use this material in evangelism and dialogue.
