How a Jew should start their week.... Its Sunday morning...the beginning of a new week. I once posited that Monday is the hardest day of the week, not because you need to fight traffic to get to the office or stuff like that but because Sunday still is close enough to feel the radiance of the Shabbos that just ended yesterday and Monday already is sooo far from the next Shabbos. The good news is that we can make every day lkovod Shabbos/in honor of Shabbos. Our Sages teach that something bought lkovod Shabbos is paid for (or reimbursed) by the heavenly accounting firm. Some would buy something each day of the week for Shabbos. Others would buy something special on Sunday and upgrade daily. Since the upgrade meant the previous days purchase was not as special it was still reimbursable but could be eaten or used because there was something better set aside for Shabbos. It is interesting to remind ourselves that , in Torah thought, no day of the week has an actual name. Yom Rishon lShabbos, Yom Sheini lShabbos... Day 1 to Shabbos, Day 2 to Shaboos...etc... Furthermore , we learn that when G-d was creating the days he told each day that they would have a mate: Day 1 to Day 2; Day 3 to 4 and Day 5 to 6. When Shabbos called out that she had no mate, G-d told her that the Jew would be her mate. As we begin to start a new week... lets make it special... every day...lkovod Shabbos Kodesh.....in honor of the holy Shabbos,
