How about having New Year Intentions rather than New Year Resolutions? Thats my intention! An intention seems more flexible than a resolution, so Ill have less resistance to keeping it. With an intention we break no promises to ourselves if we slip up, therefore we are less likely to give ourselves a hard time about it - and maybe, because an intention is a suggestion rather than an order, it will be easier to get back on track rather than abandoning those good ideas for self-improvement. Its worth a try!
