How about the fact that there are those in power withing this government who will go to extreme lengths to deny or cover up the misdeeds and wrong doing (high crimes and misdemeanors) of key government people at the highest levels simply because of their political affiliations, their position and/or their ethnic backgrounds. It would seem to me that exactly that situation also existed in Nazi Germany. Whether it’s dragnet surveillance policies or the gradual government creep into private industry, the U.S. is beginning to resemble an enemy of history past, far more than many would like to believe. The list below is by no means exhaustive, but shows many of the parallels between fascist Nazi Germany and the present conditions inside the United States. Government inspired racism. The Civil Rights Act of 1964 gave all men and women equal protection under the law. Yet the government continues to stir the air with charges of racism and even funds the media that increases racial tensions. The Treyvon Martin case, Cliven Bundy, and Don Sterling have all recently been used to pit Americans against each other. Disregard for the sanctity of life. Under the new terms of Obamacare, the mentally handicapped and those deemed “unfit for life” could quickly become disposable. Hitler, who was responsible for the deaths of 270,000 disabled and handicapped individuals by means of euthanasia, has simply set an example that the United States seems eager to follow. Obtrusive surveillance. With the largest, most comprehensive surveillance system ever to be funded in place in the United States, not only has the U.S. mirrored Nazi Germany’s quest for total control of information, we’ve far surpassed their abilities. Hitler and his cohorts initiated one of the most advanced and far-reaching surveillance programs so they could identify and eradicate enemies of the state. Often times they would rely on the community at large to rat out possible spies. Now the NSA can do this by simply going through electronic correspondence or listening to phone conversations. Plus, we’ve now got the “See Something, Say Something” campaign that encourages concerned citizens to snitch on their neighbors for even the most benign activities. Expanded role of government in policing. The Germans had the SS and the Gestapo. America now has to deal with the DHS, BLM, IRS, NSA, FBI, CIA, along with a growing number of police and military forces. Never before has such a “free society” had to live side-by-side with so many agencies of the state who exist for “freedom’s sake.” Open ridicule of Christianity. The Nazis were ruthlessly anti-Christian. Though they used the Christian church as a vehicle to push Nazi propaganda, they openly mocked and ridiculed anything that resembled the true tenets of core Christian belief. The same can be said today where the media and government passively allow violent religions like atheism and Islam to grow and discourage and even de-legitimatize Christian faith through law. These are but a few ways the U.S. has begun to resemble Nazi Germany. The U.S. has moved far away from being a republic of free states and has increasingly become a monolithic society that exists for the federal government alone.
