How an organization formed in just April 2013 can bring such - TopicsExpress

How an organization formed in just April 2013 can bring such terror to all man-kind in such a short time period seems unfathomable. What is this organization trying to accomplish? Why does this organization continue to grow? Where are they setting up their borders? When will their reign end? Who can stop them? These are all questions that are valid and on everyone’s minds recently. Tarang Nagar, a student of Symbiosis Law School sums it up, “…the lives of these people is highly unsettling as death looms large over them every single day” (Nagar). What are the economic ramifications, who suffers the consequences if ISIS is not shut down, and how will the aftermath affect all humans? ISIS was formed in April 2013 by two key Al Qaeda insurgent groups forming together in the name of religious law in extreme approach. The economic ramifications that are surfacing point towards an oil crisis to overshadow that of 2003. Sheldon Filger, an American-Canadian writer states, “Normally, any military conflict, especially in the Persian Gulf region, will elevate the per barrel price of oil. However, another factor is at play. Just as Iraq was approaching the pre-2003 level of petroleum extraction, the internecine conflicts escalation into outright civil war threatens to torpedo any meaningful exports of Iraqs crude oil in the future” (Filger). The world relies on the unrenewable source of oil to have fuel for the vast amount of automobiles, ATV’s, gas-powered lawnmowers, etc. If ISIS is not stopped then the oil that is being exported from Iraq will cause a global downfall. The world economy as it stands today would fall hard and it would fall fast considering how ruthless ISIS essentially is. If ISIS does not get shut down the consequences will affect the world. There are several countries that have risen together to help those of Iranian ancestry. If the assembly of ISIS terrorists continues to invade Iraq and Syria those who are on the frontlines will likely lose their life, limb, and liberty. Senator John McCain is quoted as saying, “It is a cancer which has spread throughout that region and can spread into Europe and in the United States of America” (Carter, Ansari). The people of Iraq and Syria are most certainly at the vanguard of ISIS’s terror reign, but those nations that step-in and lend a hand will suffer. At the very least they need to stricken of all resources and immobilized. The aftermath that will surface if ISIS is not blocked will be catastrophic. Where will this world be if a terrorist organization is allowed to further their trepidation control? Those who are affected will continue to suffer long after the horror has ended. Lives, homes, resources, monetary complications are just a slight comprehension into the aftermath that will ensue. Former CIA, state department, and House Intelligence Committee staff member Fred Fleitz states, “It is carrying out 40 mass-casualty attacks per month across multiple cities” (Fleitz). These attacks start some within the northern providences of Iraq and are now becoming harsher and the borders are being widened. The aftermath ISIS is leaving in its wake is like a small ripple in a large ocean, it seems insignificant but has a calamitous effect for all. ISIS is not a group to be taken lightly. ISIS stands to gain everything with absolutely nothing to lose. By exploiting the ‘by any means necessary’ mantra, ISIS is intent on becoming their own Islamic state. The economic ramifications, those who suffer the fundamental consequences if ISIS is not shut down, and the aftermath that distresses all humans cannot be ignored. ISIS will not cease until they have what they want, so it is imperative to stop them now before more are troubled.
