How appropriate that this great film debuted on THIS very day back in 1985. We lived in Murfreesboro, I was to start nursing school that upcoming fall at MTSU and Sharon Bedwell and I went to see this amazing movie debut. We were celebrating her getting a job in the lab at Southern Hills Nashville and she could escape her job as a waitress at Waffle House on I24. I, however, had to keep my job as a waiter at Western Sizzlin until I started working as a desk clerk at Holiday Inn, and at the post office in the Boro. We were young, we were both 23. I had hair, lotsa hair. Nappy hair, but hair nonetheless. We had an orange cat name Ginger. We lived in a tiny apartment and we had no money....no money.at all. A fun, cheap date night was to drive to Opryland and just walk through the Cascades and watch the rich people eat fancy foods. Wed talk about one day WED come back here and eat fancy foods like them folks. At that time there were no parking fees. We actually did scrape together $8.00 in tip money to get that stupid orange cat from the humane society because we were new there and didnt know a soul. So, we bought a cat? Which made no sense in the least, but we were young and lotsa things seemed like the thing to do at that time. That was about the size of things. Below is my truck Dixie parked outside our apartment in 1985. And the one with the camper is her in my driveway this year. Complete with her Outatime plate like the Delorean. Today for my birthday, I received the 25th anniversay Blue Ray edition of the Back To the Future trilogy! One of my favorite movies. So, tonight, I put on my pajama pants, sit under a ceiling fan, and watch this movie again for the millionth time in my most favorite place in the world: my living room. Now excuse me while I eat birthday cake, drink a Lime a Rita and try to generate 1.21 Gigawatts. Great Scott!
