How are others finding handicaps that have been allocated ? I have been sailing off 1040 at Nottingham and have now competed in 10 handicap races in winds varying from nothing to a lot, so starting to get a fair feel for how the boat performs against others. Nottingham SC is on the river Trent which can be fast flowing, has a fair few trees that affect the wind flow so can be gusty and shifty, but we dont get waves. The club runs a personal handicap calculation from every handicap race competed in and I have compared my current DZero personal handicap with my PH in other single-handers I have sailed over the last few seasons. Here is what the stats show so far that the Dzero handicap would need to be for me to perform at the same handicap as I did in each of the other boats I have sailed at least 20 races in over the last couple of seasons. Versus the Solo, D Zero would need to be 1070, versus Laser I would need 1050, versus Phantom 1047 and versus OK 1025.
