How are we all doing here in Southern Cook County, Northeastern - TopicsExpress

How are we all doing here in Southern Cook County, Northeastern Will County and Northwest Indiana? I can still hear thunder to the south of Park Forest in the University Park/Crete/Monee areas. Rain is much lighter...The intersection of Sauk Trail and Western Avenue here in Park Forest had trees and poles downed. The home of our sons old baseball teammates has a tree about 20 feet long and five or six feet around lying in front of their front door and east into their neighbors front door as well. We have power but all neighbors across the street on our block have no power. Sump pump has been going nonstop for at least four hours! Thank God! It was tough to see but it looked like the forest preserves east of Western along Sauk Trail looked to have some downed trees and many downed limbs and branches. Power was out in southwest Chicago Heights next door to Park Forest, too. Com Ed crews are out there...This thing came across our area from Nebraska and Kansas and Iowa across the northern parts of Illinois exactly like the weather folks have been saying all day. People often knock the weatherman but they got this one right, right down to the time and speed that the storm would reach out area. The storm is heading east into Northwest Indiana now. We have experienced this new weather phenomenon called a Derecho for the second straight summer, a new word weve never heard before. Stay alert and Be safe All!
