How are you all doing today? :) I know Ive had a BUNCH of new customers and fans lately, which is the most awesome thing ever and so incredibly humbling. :) With all of these new fans, Ive had a bunch of questions about how my little business works, so I thought since its been a while, Id introduce myself to all of you again. :) This will be a bit of a read. ;) My name is Annelee, and I am the creator and designer behind The Ruffled Cupcake. I am a wife, and a mama, before anything else. Ive been married to my amazing husband, Jonathan, for just over 9 years, and our three sweet babies are Judah (6), Grace-Anne (4), and Micah (2). I started creating hair pretties for Gracie just before she turned 1, and started TRC on February 28, 2011. It has rapidly grown into our primary income! We do also own the business that my dad left to us, NWB Guardians - Store (head over and like the page.. we are doing a giveaway of one of our prebiotics when we hit 150 likes!), where we sell our own line of prebiotics and probiotics, and carry a line of digestive enzymes. Until this past April, Jonathan and I cared for my dad, doing his in-home hemo-dialysis 5 days a week, until he made the decision to stop dialysis and head to his eternity with our Lord. We miss him fiercely, but knowing he is in the arms of Jesus brings us great peace. :) We still share a home with my mom, which is such a blessing for us, especially the kids! It is so good for them to be so close with their Grandma! We are a homeschooling family, and this year Gracie is going to be doing pre-k while Judah is in 1st grade. As for this amazing little business venture, aside from the support of my incredible family, I am a one-gal-show. I am the one who answers all of your messages and creates all of your special pretties, in what was a spare bedroom in our home but is now a crazy crafting studio. :) With that in mind, sometimes my turnaround time can creep up, if it is an especially busy time (we are entering the busiest time of year, where my turnaround will run about 2 weeks out). I work about 45-50 hours a week, often early in the morning and late at night, but I dont create on the weekends, so that I can dedicate that time to my family. :) I do my best to answer messages in a timely manner, always within 24 hours, but I do have to stay off of the computer while I am creating. :) Currently, all of my orders are through comments and messages, BUT, I am going to be working with a dear friend to get my website set up and rolling. I had started that this spring, but when my dad passed away, it became my last priority. I am hoping that the site will streamline ordering for everyone, but customs will still be available through messaging! :) And ready to ship sales will still be hosted on facebook. :) Im sure Im forgetting LOTS of info about us, so feel free to ask more questions. :) I am humbled everyday by how this business has grown under the hand of God, and absolutely love getting to know all of you as we talk. It is like a dream, and I truly feel like I need to pinch myself sometimes! :) Thank you for letting me create special little pretties for your beautiful girls (and YOU!)! I dont take any of you for granted. :)
