How `bout that M win yesterday? The FG with less than a second - TopicsExpress

How `bout that M win yesterday? The FG with less than a second left? Another multiple OT game. Geeze, almost ran out of beer (emphasis on ALMOST). Yes, Campers, we did make it back from last week’s Ann Arbor junket. Granted, our Thursday return didn’t happen till FRIDAY afternoon. Last Tuesday’s Men’s hoops game would be Barb’s first visit to Crisler `Cazzies Castle’ Arena. My first visit since all the renovations (2011-12) last year. WOW. If you thought Crisler rocked before… I reckon most of the 52M$ went towards the Bose sound system. I’d only know this because I know what the Bose sound option cost in the new Sierra. Well worth it. Anyhow… Tuesday’s Men’s game ended with Michigan having a WHOLE LOT more points than over matched SC State. Wednesday evening would be a different case entirely. The Women hosted Xavier. A most excellent game that remained close throughout but that the Wolverines’ lost in second O.T. Pictures..? Barb outside Crisler Center; putting on (?in?) her brand new M earrings (even before removing her coat). VIP seating, we didn’t have to climb up/down a single step. Jumbo video board; BASE GUITAR player in the Pep Band. What do you call a BAND with strings in it? That’s right –an ORCHESTRA! The University of Michigan Marching ORCHESTRA??? Sorry, that just ain’t right; and, `scoreboard’. When not doing games we spent time on and around the athletic and education campuses site seeing and getting into a little trouble. Like wandering into facilities not necessarily open to the public. Michigan Stadium remains off limits. Gone is the FREEDOM of walking about the Big House, running the steps, photo ops -like taking pictures of the UNDER SIDE OF THE PRESS BOX (never seen on TV). This FREEDOM remains a `casualty’ to/of terror. But, for a FEE, tours can be arranged. Yet another FREEDOM becomes a FEEDOM (home of the BRAVE; land of the FEE). HAPPY (happy, happy…) to report that Yost IS again open for public skating and has rentals. Then there was the `eating’. Lotz of yummy eateries in A-Square. Also, the football mood there was –and is- BELIEVE. Special thanks to THEEEEE (1817) University of Michigan for their swell hospitality and for honoring our military -present and past. Tip of the hat to the folks at Fred and Wilma’s (actually, that’s Max and Erma’s); the Real Seafood Company and Frasier’s Sports Pub for making a couple out-of-towners feel most welcome. Go BLUE… BELIEVE!
