How can a Holy God accept a sinful man? By allowing His Son to die on the cross the way was opened to have a relationship with a Holy God. Jesus Christ, Gods Son became our perfect substitute. 24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. (1 Peter 2:24) Jesus Christ died on the cross two thousand years ago to become the substitute for all mankind. Because God is Holy, and righteous He could not overlook sin. His wrath rested on us because Gods righteousness demanded He punish our sins. Jesus Christs death satisfied the righteous demands of God. Christ was Him25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; 26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. 27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. (Rom 3:25-27) Christs death on the cross proved that God is just by not allowing the sins of mankind to go unpunished. Now God is just when He saves us since Christ paid the penalty for our sins. What must I do to be saved? I AM SAVED THROUGH FAITH... 22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: (Rom 3:22) 31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. (Acts 16:31) 12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: (John 1:12) 36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. (John 3:36). 16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. (Gal 2:16) In Romans 3:28, Paul says a a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. The Greek word used in the New Testament for faith can be translated trust or confidence. Thus to place confidence in Christ and His finished work on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins is saving faith. In other words, saving faith is to so completely put our hope in Christs finished work on the cross alone as sufficient to pay for our sins, that if it is not sufficient we have no hope. Remember Pauls answer to the Philippian jailer when he asked How must I be saved? Paul answered, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. (Acts 16:31) Salvation comes when you: 1. Understand and admit your spiritual need. 2. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and accept the fact He died on cross to pay for your sins. 3. Receive Him as my Savior. The Bible assures us that if we receive The Savior, Jesus Christ, The Son of God, you have eternal life. 24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. (John 5:24) Maybe you have never accepted Jesus Christ as you personal Savior. Today is the day to turn from your sins and receive the salvation found only in Jesus Christ. If you would like to at this time, here is a simple prayer to help you to communicate your desire. There is nothing magical in these words and a prayer alone cannot save you. The prayer should be communicating the decision you have already made in your heart. Dear Lord Jesus: I know I am a sinner. I believe you died for my sins. Right now, I admit that I am a sinner and realize my guilt before you. I open the door of my heart and life. I receive you as personal Savior. Thank you for saving me now. Amen. The Bible teaches that the God of all creation is a Holy God 11 Who is like unto thee, O LORD, among the gods? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders? Exod 15:11: 44 For I am the LORD your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. Lev 11:44: 13 Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity: wherefore lookest thou upon them that deal treacherously, and holdest thy tongue when the wicked devoureth the man that is more righteous than he? Hab 1:13: 8 And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come. Rev 4:8 And that man is sinful 10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: 11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. 12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. 13 Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips: 14 Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness: 15 Their feet are swift to shed blood: 16 Destruction and misery are in their ways: 17 And the way of peace have they not known: Rom 3:10-17: 23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Rom 3:23: 12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: Rom 5:12). Because God is also just and righteous 4 O let the nations be glad and sing for joy: for thou shalt judge the people righteously, and govern the nations upon earth. Selah. Ps 67:4: 7 They shall abundantly utter the memory of thy great goodness, and shall sing of thy righteousness. Ps 145:7: 17 The LORD is righteous in all his ways, and holy in all his works. Ps 145:17: 6 Whereupon the princes of Israel and the king humbled themselves; and they said, The LORD is righteous. 2 Chr 12:6: 14 Therefore hath the LORD watched upon the evil, and brought it upon us: for the LORD our God is righteous in all his works which he doeth: for we obeyed not his voice. Dan 9:14: 8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. 2 Tim 4:8, He cannot allow our sin to go unpunished. No amount of self-righteousness or man-made religion or philosophy can reconcile us back to a Holy God. But, God is gracious 27 For that is his covering only, it is his raiment for his skin: wherein shall he sleep? and it shall come to pass, when he crieth unto me, that I will hear; for I am gracious. Exod 22:27: 9 For if ye turn again unto the LORD, your brethren and your children shall find compassion before them that lead them captive, so that they shall come again into this land: for the LORD your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn away his face from you, if ye return unto him. 2 Chr 30:9: 15 But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth. Ps 86:15: 4 He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered: the LORD is gracious and full of compassion. Ps 111:4: 5 Gracious is the LORD, and righteous; yea, our God is merciful. Ps 116:5: and in His love He provided the solution to the problem of our separation from Him. God sent His Son to die on the cross to pay our sins 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.John 3:16: 6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. 8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Rom 5:6-8: 24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. 1 Pet 2:24:). Christs substitutionary sacrifice satisfied the righteous demands of God and opened the way for the Holy God to save us, sinners 25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; 26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. 27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. Romans 3:22-27). Now you can receive Christ as your personal Savior by simple faith 31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. Acts 16:31: 12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: John 1:12: 36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. John 3:36: 22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: Roman 3:22: 16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. Gal 2:16:) As a result, you are given the gift of eternal life 24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. John 5:24).
