How can a so called section of ECG (Electricity Company of Ghana) - TopicsExpress

How can a so called section of ECG (Electricity Company of Ghana) workers, refuse to accept the sacking of the Managing Director, and call for his reinstatement? Is that part of their responsibilities? Especially at a time when it seems the President is finally acting. What makes them feel they can do this? Is their action in the interest of consumers? Is it about maintaining a status quo of rolling blackouts? And we have the daily graphic editorial of today, saying we should be be careful not to upset them because they may go on strike and make things worse. Unacceptable. This must not be tolerated. Indiscipline being masqueraded as workers rights must stop. Who doesnt know that a big part of our current problem is a result of the waste that occurs with Distribution? Yes there are other problems but that does not exonerate the ECG. Commercial and technical losses that take place through theft and outdated equipment are simply too much. ECG are notorious for illegal connections. I daresay that the real problem lies here. Yes we need more power but you start by blocking the leakage and utilizing what you have efficiently; you take conservation seriously. The blackouts can be ended in a couple of months if we were to engage consumers about conservation. Apparently what we lose through the misuse of power is as much as what we get from one of our existing power plants. Folks, it doesnt matter how big a powered pump you get. If the pipes are full of holes, you are simply throwing water away.
