How can anybody celebrate 50 years of independence when 30 years was under a dictator Kenneth Kaunda. Think back, how many people did he make homeless? Everybody should know that he had no mandate to speak on behalf of the Zambian people. In fact he created poverty, he nationalised the mines, he ruined Zambia to the point where there was no money, health and education for the people, most of all he didnt create jobs. His fame to life is that he helped to liberate Southern Africa. He allowed the liberation fighters to set up camp in Zambia at the risk of endangering the Zambian people. Some of these liberations so called fighters were undisciplined and the crime/ death rates in Zambia sky rocketed. I remember Frederick Chiluba telling me, that he pleaded with Nelson Mandela to take his military back to South Africa. So I will congratulate Zambia on its 20 years of democracy, and I wish them all the best for the future.
