How can there be a debate about what to do with that police officer in Ferguson, Missouri, who killed an African American teenager? He shot an unarmed kid with his hands in the air. That is not debatable. That is murder. The only debate is how to demilitarize our police departments nationwide. We have the lowest violent crime rates in our nations history, yet our police are acting and arming themselves as if this is Iraq. Demilitarizing our police forces, mandating body cameras for all officers, and developing a culture of service, not domination, needs to be a top priority for every city council in every town in America. Starting today.
