How cool is this! In an experiment in Organic 2 Lab, Dr. Huval’s and his students were doing a reaction called a Diels-Alder reaction. In this reaction two molecules combine to form a product whose chemical structure is seen in many natural products and synthetic compounds. The reaction generates heat and as the reaction mixture is allowed to cool down, something very cool happens. Watch and be amazed. We sure were.
