How cool is this riff? And get this, Kevin Parker is from Perth! OK, thats Fremantle Perth in Western Australia. But thats kind of local inasmuch as they stole our Town name. Strangely enough Perth in Western Australia is the location the iPhone app Bands-in-Town refused to accept was not my home town. Each week it flashed up ticket information telling me Miley Cyrus or Madonna or Kylie Minogue was taking their show to Perth. Book now! There was a time I knew every musical act that was playing 9000 miles away in the warmer Perth. (I wonder how long it would take for their City Council to decided to do with a derelict, unused and not particularly architecturally significant eyesore City Hall lying abandoned where a civic meeting/gathering square might possibly stand?) What was equally strange, the week before I uninstalled Bands-in-Town, was to see the Dead Kennedys squeezed in between Kylie and Miley Cyrus. Im guessing they were booked to prevent a rhyming couplet emerging but I was especially impressed to learn that the Dead Kennedys were still alive. I think since they formed all the surviving Kennedys have actually now died. The Dead Kennedys have outlived the Kennedys. Theres definitely something ironic in that, dont you think. OK. Here comes the song. (You know, Im not entirely confident that he is actually singing about Daffodils in the popular flowering sense of that noun....)
